About the Training Day

Generation Arts delivers high quality, free acting and theatre-making training projects for young people in the margins in London.  Our Training Day is designed to upskill emerging facilitators looking to work as facilitators, or to extend their work as peer facilitators supporting young people to develop creatively and progress.

An opportunity to develop your professional skills in a supportive environment.  The day will focus on the Generation Arts model of working with young people, but skills can be applied to all drama facilitation work with a range of groups.

 

 

The day will include:

  • Creating a safe space
  • Facilitating engaging drama games and exercises
  • Understanding group behaviours
  • Working with Directors and Artists
  • Supporting the rehearsal room
  • Working with challenging groups

Successful applicants will receive a £50 bursary to support with travel and managing time.

Fables

at The Scoop

Fables was a new show as part of London’s Free Open Air Theatre Season at the incredible venue of The Scoop amphitheatre next to Tower Bridge.

In an exciting collaboration with The Scoop and Gods & Monsters, young actors from Generation Arts performed an orignal devised piece of spirited theatre.

As part of Summer by the River festival, 800 people a night people enjoyed an evening of engaging theatre in a magical setting.

This project was supported by the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Arts Council England.

 

The Happy Theory

at The Yard Theatre

This compelling new play was devised and performed by the young actors of Generation Arts’ Future Stage Company.

As theatre-makers, writers and devisers led by director Ali Godfrey the Future Stage company were immersed in all the stages of the creative process to make crucial new work with heart and integrity.
